### For new FAS Faculty:

For information specific to onboarding a **new Faculty** member, please visit the comprehensive [Onboarding Overview for New Faculty](https://facultyresources.fas.harvard.edu/onboarding-overview-new-faculty) guide on the [FAS Faculty Resources](https://facultyresources.fas.harvard.edu/) website.

### For new FAS Harvard Sponsored Role (HSR) affiliations:

To request a **Harvard Sponsored Role (HSR) affiliation role**, use the [**HSR Portal**](https://hsrportal.harvard.edu/) web application. HSR roles are given to non-FAS employees such as a vendor, tenant, or volunteer for access into FAS buildings or to FAS resources. Most benefits eligible staff are granted access to the portal to request a HSR after a short, required **HSR Policy training.** Department Administrators act as approvers for HSR roles in FAS. For more information, review the University [**HSR Policy**](https://huit.harvard.edu/harvard-sponsored-role-policy) and visit the [HSR Portal Knowledge Base](https://huit.harvard.edu/harvard-sponsored-role-portal).

***Please note:*** if your new HSR will require a Harvard ID card, submit the request 2 - 3 days prior to their anticipated arrival at the ID office. The Harvard ID office will not be able to create an ID card for a HSR requested same-day.

### For new Employee Orientation and Review:

For more information and guidelines on the **Onboarding and Orientation and Review Period**, visit the [FAS Human Resources](https://hr.fas.harvard.edu/onboarding-and-orientation-and-review-period) website. If you are onboarding a new Administrator to Harvard, the [Administrator's Atlas](https://hr.fas.harvard.edu/department-administrator-resources) provides an overview of the resources availble in the different functional areas of the FAS.

### For FAS New Hire Training:

The [FAS New Hire Training Portal ](https://trainingportal.harvard.edu/Saba/Web_spf/NA1PRD0068/app/me/pages/pagedetail?id=spage000000000006400)supports the first year of employment by organizing required training into four stages: essential courses in the **first 30 days**, expanded training by 60 days, deeper skill development by **90 days**, and comprehensive training within the **first year**. Each section includes courses and resources tailored to specific job types, along with relevant instructional websites.
